Coir Mats
Natural coir mats are handmade using fibres extracted from the husk of mature coconuts. Skilled artisans twist and weave the retted coir strands into thick, durable yarns, which are then handloomed into dense matting. The weaving is done on traditional wooden frames, allowing tight knots and uniform patterns without any mechanical distortion. Handmade construction gives the mat a heavier body, superior brushing action, and a distinctly natural texture.
The mats retain the raw goldenbrown colour of coir unless dyed or printed for decorative use. Edges are manually trimmed and finished to maintain shape and prevent fraying. These mats are fully biodegradable, weatherresistant, and ideal for doorsteps, verandas, and naturaltheme interiors.
Their handcrafted nature ensures each piece carries slight variations, adding authenticity and aesthetic value.
